Adult
Student Services
A variety of support services are
available for those adults considering "re-entry" into education. These
services may include counseling, workshops, and pre-THEA computer tutorials.
For the
2-year Vocational/Technical major, there may also be extra
financial support for child care, transportation, books.
Adults entering college for
the first time, or returning after a long period of absence, can visit with the
Special Populations Coordinator in Support Services or attend one of the free
Adult Student Workshops held several times each year.

Adult Student Workshops
are open to anyone 21 years or older who is interested in returning to college. They are
designed for those individuals with a high school diploma or General Educational
Development (GED), who may be the first in their family to attend college, and who may
lack financial resources for tuition/fees or
other needs while attending college. This might include single parents, displaced
homemakers, or other adults who need retraining for a new career.
The workshop will include a
representative from the offices of Admissions/ Registration,
Testing, Financial Aid, Support Services, Distance Learning and
the counselors from each academic school, Allied Health & Nursing,
Applied Studies, Continuing
Studies and University Studies.
Advance reservation is urged. Those
